Two radio hosts got a rude awakening after asking a rude question.
Country music star Keith Urban swiftly cut off a live Zoom interview Tuesday with the Australian radio show Mix 102.3’s “Hayley & Max in the Morning” after its hosts, Hayley Peterson and Max Burford, asked a pretty gross question about Urban’s wife, Nicole Kidman.
The “Blue Ain’t Your Color” singer seemed pretty jovial during the interview, but about four minutes in, Burford asked Urban if he wanted to play a game called “Wall of Truth,” in which the hosts ask their guest a “very tricky … deeply personal question.”

Peterson, for her part, said she felt “really uncomfortable” asking Urban the question, so Burford swooped in and asked:
“What does Keith Urban think when he sees his beautiful wife with beautiful younger men like Zac Efron having these beautiful love scenes on TV?”
Kidman and Efron played love interests in the Netflix comedy “A Family Affair” last year.
In response to the question, Urban simply hung up the call, which left the hosts shocked.
“Did he just hang up on us?” Peterson asked.
“I think his team hung up on us because they didn’t want us to ask that question,” a producer informed the hosts.
“Really?!” Burford asked.
“That’s 100% what happened,” Peterson said.
“But he was smiling,” Burford pushed back, still seemingly shocked.
“I know, but he doesn’t like the personal stuff!” a panicked Peterson said. “Oh, I knew that would happen. … He doesn’t like talking about his wife.”
Burford seemed confused by this and suggested he felt entitled to ask it because Urban’s wife is a famous movie star.
Burford then went on to blame Peterson for the whole fiasco.
“If you knew this was going to happen Hayley, why didn’t you stop me asking the question?!” Burford asked.
“He hates us,” Peterman eventually said, deflated, as producers scrambled to get in touch with Urban’s publicist to see what happened.

“I may have gotten ghosted from the publicist,” a producer admitted before the show cut for commercial.
HuffPost has reached out to Urban for comment but did not receive an immediate response.
Although Burford and Peterson were flummoxed by Urban disconnecting the Zoom, when the story reached Instagram, most users sided with the “Somebody Like You” singer, with many saying “Good for him!!!!”
