“Jimmy Kimmel Live” guest host Fortune Feimster arrived on the set at an awkward time for late-night television after CBS canceled Stephen Colbert’s “Late Show” amid speculation of political pressure.
“I will be here for the next three nights,” the actor/comic told the audience. “At least I think I will.”
President Donald Trump, she noted, wrote on social media that he heard Kimmel will be “NEXT to go.”
That led to a practical question, since Kimmel is on vacation all summer and guest hosts like Feimster are filling in.
“Well, I’m just wondering: If the president cancels a show, does the guest host still get paid?” Feimster asked.
She had another concern as well.
“Am I in trouble if Jimmy’s show gets canceled while I’m hosting?” she wondered. “Hey, thanks for letting me cat sit. Oh, also, your cat’s dead.”
Feimster also had a “fact-check” for the president.
“Jimmy Kimmel is not the next to go,” she said. “Girl, he already went like a month ago. He is doing shrooms at Six Flags right now. Just wait until the president finds out that Jimmy hired a substitute lesbian.”
