‘Daily Show’ Spots The ‘Crazy’ Way Trump ‘Pissed Off’ His Base Over Epstein

Daily Show” correspondent Josh Johnson on Thursday said Donald Trump has “pissed off” his “most important” base — “crazy-ass lunatics” — as he deals with the fallout of his administration’s handling of files tied to Jeffrey Epstein.

Johnson turned to coverage of convicted Jan. 6 rioter Jacob Chansley — who became known as the “QAnon Shaman” after he donned a horned headdress and makeup during the insurrection — appearing to slam the president just months after receiving a pardon from him.

“Fuck this stupid piece of shit… What a fraud…,” wrote Chansley in a since-deleted X post under a post from Trump featuring his 2023 mugshot.

“Like, wow. Do you know how down bad you are when the guys who went to prison for you are turning on you?” Johnson quipped.

He continued, “He went to jail for Trump. This would be like if Nelson Mandela came out of prison like, ’You know what? I’m done with Black people.”

Posts from Chansley suggested that he was disappointed with the president over the recent Epstein saga although he went on to clarify that Trump “lost” him back in May.

Chansley — who brought a spear into the Capitol building and sat in a seat occupied by then-Vice President Mike Pence on the Senate floor earlier in the day — pleaded guilty to felony obstruction of an official proceeding and served 27 months in prison before an early release in 2023.

Johnson proceeded to highlight separate posts from Chansley where he claimed that Trump “fucked a corpse to get his billions of dollars” and that billionaire Elon Musk was a “baby eating POS.”

“This is so, so bad. That’s the thing about QAnon. Like, if Kendrick Lamar wanted to ruin your life, at least he’d do a bunch of research on you and your family. QAnon just comes out and says you’re eating spines,” he joked.

“And there’s no way for you to prove you don’t eat spines. In fact, every time you’ve got something between your teeth, they’re like, ‘See! See! He’s flossing babies!’”
