Adam DeVine Says This Celeb ‘Ghosted’ Him, And They Still Haven’t Spoken

Adam DeVine is claiming that one of his former co-stars “ghosted” him, and the two haven’t spoken since.

The “Workaholics” star sat down with interviewer Graham Bensinger and revealed that his “Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates” co-star Zac Efron called him “out of the blue” six months ago, after not calling him for “a couple years.”

DeVine said that Efron was apparently on a private island, and called to say, “Hey man, I just wanna let you know that I miss you.’”

DeVine said that he missed Efron too, calling him a “good friend of mine.”

After exchanging pleasantries, Efron then asked him, “Um, you still have that place, uh, down by the beach?”

When DeVine said that he did, Efron called in a favor.

“He’s like, ‘Would it be cool if I came and crashed with you for two weeks?’ And I’m like… ‘Yeah, sure, come stay with me,’” DeVine recalled. “He’s like, ‘Alright, I’m gonna call you tomorrow to get all the details and then I’ll be there early next week, OK? And then you’ll send me the address and all that.’ I’m like, ‘Alright.’”

DeVine said that he then told his wife, Chloe Bridges, that Efron was going to come live with them for a couple of weeks.

While plans seemed like they were in place, DeVine said that Efron “never called back” and and just straight-up “ghosted.”

“I even texted him like, ‘Are you gonna stay here?’ And haven’t talked with him since,” DeVine said, adding that he has “no idea” what happened.

After this very public callout, Efron may decide to reveal himself.

DeVine also said that he and Efron still have a text chain with their fellow “Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates” co-stars, Anna Kendrick and Aubrey Plaza, who may put pressure on the two to reconnect again.
