Bad Bunny Imagines Donald Trump Doing The Absolutely Unthinkable In New Music Video

Bad Bunny, in his new music video, depicted Donald Trump doing something highly unlikely to ever happen: apologize for his hateful anti-immigrant rhetoric and policies.

Well, at least a voice sounding remarkably like the president did.

The politically charged moment appeared around the 2:40 mark in the video for “NUEVAYoL,” a track from the Puerto Rican superstar’s latest album “DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS.”

The song samples El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico’s “Un Verano en Nueva York,” and the video symbolically dropped on Friday, July 4.

In the scene, four men huddle around a radio as the Trump-esque voice says:

“I made a mistake. I want to apologize to the immigrants in America. I mean, the United States. I know America is the whole continent. I want to say that this country is nothing without the immigrants. This country is nothing without Mexicans, Dominicans, Puerto Ricans, Colombians, Venezuelans, Cubans…”

The moment follows imagery of Bad Bunny standing inside the crown of the Statue of Liberty, a massive Puerto Rican flag draped from it — a reference to the 1977 occupation of the monument by Puerto Rican independence activists.

The video ends with a message on a black screen that reads: “Juntos Somos Más Fuertes” — Spanish for “Together We Are Stronger.”

As of Thursday morning, the music video had racked up more than 12 million views.

Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, has frequently used his platform to speak out on issues affecting Puerto Rico. He was among several Latino stars who condemned comedian Tony Hinchcliffe for calling Puerto Rico “a floating island of garbage in the middle of the ocean” during a racist set at a Trump 2024 campaign rally at Madison Square Garden.

At the time, Bad Bunny shared then-Democratic candidate Kamala Harris’ denouncement of the comments and also posted a lengthy video online showcasing the beauty of Puerto Rico, sarcastically titled “Garbage.”
