Jimmy Kimmel on Monday said things are quickly turning ugly between President Donald Trump and his one-time pal Elon Musk just days after the billionaire left his White House role amid great fanfare and an Oval Office ceremony.
“On Friday, Trump gave Elon Musk the key to the White House,” Kimmel said. “And I guess he better change the locks, because today Musk had something very nasty to say about Trump’s big, beautiful bill.”
Musk slammed Trump’s signature legislative package as a “disgusting abomination” and said “shame on those who voted for it.”
“Boy, when he’s off the ketamine, he is a lot less fun,” Kimmel said.
The late night host said he agreed with the Tesla CEO for once ― but had one question about those who voted for the bill.
“Who bankrolled these people that voted for it? I want the name of whoever bankrolled ― oh wait,” Kimmel said. “It’s his name.”
Musk spent some $291 million during the 2024 election cycle, mostly to help Republicans, especially Trump, according to OpenSecrets.org.
Musk complained that Congress would “bankrupt” the country.
Kimmel was ready with a reality check.
“Yo, Elon, bro, were you not paying attention when Trump said he was gonna run the country like one of his businesses?” he said, adding: “I’m not sure who to root for. It’s like Diddy versus R. Kelly.”
