Billy Joel’s ex-wife is still cheering on everyone’s favorite Piano Man.
The day after the singer announced he was canceling all of his future tour dates following a brain disorder diagnosis, supermodel Christie Brinkley told her ex to take care of himself, stay positive and remember all the “joy you create.”
“Dear Billy, the whole Brinkley gang is sending you lots of love and good wishes for a full and speedy recovery,” she wrote in a Saturday Instagram post.
Reminding the five-time Grammy-winner how much he is cherished, the cover girl shared video of an unforgettable night at one of Joel’s concerts that she attended with daughter Sailor Brinkley Cook.
Brinkley said the clip, which began with Sailor singing to her mom’s ex backstage and went on to capture Joel performing some of his most beloved hits, made her laugh but “also reminded me of all the joy you create, and all the sensational sing a longs you’ve lead.”
“You turn an arena of strangers into a living room full of friends as we all sway in unison,” wrote the model, who was married to Joel from 1985 to 1994 and with whom she shares daughter Alexa Ray Joel.
She continued, “I’m sure I’m speaking for everyone in that room when I say please take good care of yourself, we all want you back in that white hot spotlight, you’re OUR piano man.”
Nodding to the lyrics of the famous track, Brinkley added, “And we’re always in the mood for your melodies And we all hope you’re feeling alright!”
She signed off saying, “We Love You, the kids, me and an arena or two!”
In a Friday statement on social media, representatives for Joel announced he had recently been diagnosed with normal pressure hydrocephalus and would have to cancel all upcoming concert dates on his doctor’s orders.

The condition, which can cause problems with hearing, vision and balance, had been “exacerbated by recent concert performances” and the singer-songwriter must “refrain from performing” while undergoing physical therapy during his recovery.
“Billy is thankful for the excellent care he is receiving and is fully committed to prioritizing his health,” the statement went on. “He is grateful for the support from fans during this time and looks forward to the day when he can once again take the stage.”
The statement ended with a message directly from Joel, who said, “I’m sincerely sorry to disappoint our audience, and thank you for understanding.”

Back in March, Joel was forced to postpone several scheduled tour dates after having surgery for a then-undisclosed medical condition.
“While I regret postponing any shows, my health must come first,” he shared at the time.
