Coldplay’s Chris Martin Jokingly Warns Fans After Scandalous Viral CEO Video

Coldplay’s Chris Martin playfully warned fans about the “kiss cam” on Saturday during the band’s first performance following the viral moment that has had the internet in a chokehold since last week.

In a clip shared by a fan on X, formerly Twitter, Martin gave concertgoers a heads up that they may appear on the massive screen at their show for the band’s “The Jumbotron Song.”

“We’d like to say hello to some of you in the crowd,” the frontman told the crowd at the Camp Randall Stadium in Madison, Wisconsin. “How we’re gonna do that is we’re gonna use our cameras and put some of you on the big screen.”

While strumming his guitar on stage, he went on to tease, “So please, if you haven’t done your makeup, do your makeup now.”

Despite Martin’s cheeky disclaimer, no couples were shown on screen during “The Jumbotron Song” at the show, according to People.

Martin’s warning came after a man and woman who were cuddling quickly hid their faces and scrambled away after being spotted by the band’s “kiss cam” at a July 16 concert at the Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

“Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy,” the Coldplay lead singer quipped from the stage at the time.

The moment quickly went viral, with users speculating that the pair were having an affair. The two were later identified as Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and his chief people officer Kristin Cabot, who is not his wife. Byron has since resigned from his position and issued an apology.
