Dropkick Murphys Singer Socks Trump In Vicious St. Patrick’s Day Beatdown

Dropkick Murphys’ Ken Casey emphasized his disgust for Donald Trump on Monday as he continues to use the Massachusetts-founded Celtic punk band’s shows to slam the president and his MAGA supporters.

Donald Trump is the exact opposite of everything we sing about,” said Casey, a lead vocalist and bassist with the band, in an interview shared by the MeidasTouch Network on St. Patrick’s Day.

“He’s turned on his friends, he’s turned on America’s friends and our allies, and he’s a rat and a coward when you think of it that way.”

Casey — known for ripping “swindlers” and “grifters” including Trump and his supporters over the years — has recently used the band’s concerts to call out the MAGA movement, notably trolling a fan in Florida with free merchandise after the concertgoer lost a wager over his pro-Trump tee.

On Saturday, Casey called out a fan at a sold-out show in Boston for holding up a MAGA hat, saying it represents a “cult.”

“This is America, there’s no kings here,” shouted Casey, whose remarks got applause from the crowd.

Casey told Ben Meiselas of the MeidasTouch Network that the band has always been pro-working class and pro-union since their founding, adding that their fanbase — ranging from military members to first responders — was in lockstep with them before the launch of Trump’s 2016 campaign.

He said his goal is not to berate fans, noting that the man who lost the wager in Florida was a “good sport” about it, but Casey stressed that he does have to “call out the hypocrisy when I see it.”

“The two guys in charge, whoever you want to call the president, I’m not sure which really is, they literally laugh at working class people. How you could vote with that, I don’t know,” he said of Trump and billionaire Elon Musk.

Casey later called on working-class people on the left, in particular, who “need to stand up.”

“There’s this whole mentality that MAGA has painted that like, ‘You’re either MAGA or you’re drinking soy lattes,’ you know, or whatever,” he said

“And there’s a lot of people that are just like, “We’re just regular people, but we don’t want a dictator, we don’t want to see people’s benefits ripped away, especially veterans and people who worked their whole lives paying into Social Security.”
