Halle Berry Has A Few Words For Critics Of Spicy Mother’s Day Video With Her Boyfriend

Halle Berry was unapologetic as she addressed backlash to a provocative Mother’s Day post she made last month.

The Oscar-winner caused a stir when she posted a saucy video of herself in bed with longtime boyfriend Van Hunt, where they giggled because the two were about to get busy with the help of some personal lubricant.

While some commenters, and one big-name conservative pundit, said the post was an inappropriate way to mark Mother’s Day, Berry sounded exasperated while talking about the uproar during a guest hosting gig on Wednesday’s episode of “Today with Jenna & Friends.”

“Women, other women, got in their feelings,” the star told co-host Jenna Bush Hager. “‘Was it right for her to be in her bed talking about spinning with her man?’ Yes!”

Berry had a priceless reply for people who asked, “‘Should she be talking about that on Mother’s Day?” and “Shouldn’t she be with her kids somewhere?’”

“First of all, it’s not Kid’s Day. It’s called Mother’s Day,” she clapped back, earning applause for her co-host and the audience.

“Kid’s Day is every day of the year,” the mother of 17-year-old Nahla and 11-year-old Maceo-Robert added. “That’s my day. And if I wanna be in bed and spin with my man, then that’s what I’m gonna do.”

When Bush Hager made sure she was correct to assume “spin” was a euphemism for getting frisky, Berry said she had it right.

“It’s the most natural thing that we do as women, as men,” the former Bond girl continued. “And for people to be offended by that, saying, ‘Instagram is a family channel.’ Yeah, and we should be allowed to talk about this in our families. We have sex. It’s the most natural thing we do. Men do it. Women do it.”

Berry also reminded everyone that she and Hunt were under the covers in the post, which also served as promotion for the “Let’s Spin” brand of lube she helped launch.

“You saw nothing. So we’re in the bed, so what?” she said. “It should be OK to celebrate that and not be criticized for talking about love.”

Later on the show, Hunt popped by and made a surprising confession about the couple’s relationship.

“So I put out the proposal, and it’s still on hold as you can see,” he said as Berry laughed. “It’s just out there floating. You know, maybe you can encourage her.”

Though the musician and movie star have been together for about five years, she said she was only wary of getting hitched because she’s walked down the aisle, and been divorced, three times before.

“We don’t feel like we have to get married to validate our love in any way,” she explained.
