“Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday had a blistering reaction to Donald Trump supporters burning their MAGA hats over his administration’s handling of files tied to late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
“People in China were like, ‘Oh, c’mon, we worked so hard making those,’” Fallon quipped.
In moves backed by white nationalist Nick Fuentes, Trump’s backers have shared a number of clips on social media setting their red caps ablaze as the president tries to quell MAGA outrage and infighting by telling his supporters to move on from the case.
Later in his monologue, Fallon turned to House Republicans blocking a Democrat-backed effort that looked to force Attorney General Pam Bondi to publicly release all documents tied to Epstein.
A second attempt by Democrats for more transparency on the files was blocked by House Republicans again on Tuesday.
“As of now, Trump is keeping the information totally classified aka in the bathroom at Mar-a-Lago,” joked Fallon, referring to a room that housed classified documents at Trump’s estate in Florida.
Fallon continued to lay into Trump’s worsening “excuses” for his administration’s handling of the case.
“Trump was like, ‘A dog ate the Epstein files, then people in Ohio ate the dog,’” he quipped.
