Kabir “Kabeezy” Singh, a comedian who tickled “America’s Got Talent” judges and fans in 2021 with jokes about his mother and Indian heritage, has died, according to reports. He was 39.
TMZ reported through law enforcement sources that Singh, who advanced to the semifinals of NBC’s talent competition, was in the Bay Area when he died. A toxicology report is forthcoming, the entertainment site added.
He was said to apparently have had health issues.
Fellow comedian Jeremy Curry, whom Singh described as his “protege,” also announced his death.
“He passed away peacefully in his sleep and this is the most devastating post I’ve posted,” Curry wrote on Facebook Thursday.
Curry noted that Singh’s funeral is scheduled for Dec. 14 in Hayward, California, not far from Fremont where the comic said he was from in his “AGT” interview.
People magazine said it had confirmed Singh’s passing via his fiancée, who was not named.
Singh’s Instagram promoted standup gigs and featured clips of him into November.
His credits included Comedy Central and “Family Guy,” according to his profile.
Singh nailed his audition on “America’s Got Talent,” earning extra praise from judge and comedian Howie Mandel, who called him “relatable” and “magnetic.”
Mandel said, “America is gonna love you.”
