“Sesame Street” prompted a proper meltdown among conservatives with its social media post marking Pride Month.
“On our street, everyone is welcome,” the beloved show captioned a rainbow-colored image of its characters’ arms holding hands that it shared on X, formerly Twitter, in honor of June’s recognition of the LGBTQ+ community.
“Together, let’s build a world where every person and family feels loved and respected for who they are,” the kids’ favorite program added.
While the post was praised by many for its inclusive messaging, right-wingers thoroughly flipped out and baselessly accused the show of “grooming” children.
One commenter fumed: “This is why my grandson won’t be watching you. I grew up with Sesame Street in the 70’s, before it was woke. So sad that you had to ruin a good thing.”
Another ranted: “Nothing to see here: just a publicly funded puppet show promoting weird sex stuff to your three-year-old.”
The show has shared a similar message marking Pride over the last few years, and faced equal backlash each and every time.

A Pride-promoting post from the NFL’s New England Patriots prompted the same kind of response this weekend, too.
