Seth Meyers, on Thursday, acknowledged how most critics of Donald Trump are now playing nice with the president-elect ahead of his return to the White House.
They’re “going to be good sports” during Trump’s second swearing-in ceremony because they still believe “in the institutions and traditions of this country enough that they won’t act like Donald Trump,” the “Late Night” comedian suggested.
But “while I understand the impulse, I also think it would be super funny if [outgoing President Joe] Biden got up halfway through Trump’s speech and acted like he thought he had bought tickets to ‘Wicked’ instead,” said Meyers.
Meyers then jumped into character as Biden:
“Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Hold on, hold on. This isn’t that witch movie. We gotta get out of here.”
Fallon then added that he imagined Biden doing the following: “And then just walked the long way off the dais so it takes as long as possible.”
