“Sopranos” star Joe Pantoliano is considering leaving the United States — permanently.
The veteran actor didn’t name President Donald Trump as a reason for the potential move, but told Page Six in an interview published Saturday that he’s “so uncomfortable with the nature of what’s happening in our country” that he wants to “run for the hills.”
“It’s hard for me to think about people’s bullshit like making a TV show,” Pantoliano, 73, told the outlet at the New York City premiere for National Geographic’s “Tucci in Italy” series earlier this week. “The world is on fire, it’s hard for me to concentrate.”
The “Matrix” star went on to share that he and his wife of over 30 years, fellow actor Nancy Sheppard, recently returned from Portugal — and “really love it there.” He also posited that the country’s recent 18-hour power outage is a sign of things to come to the U.S.
“I think that’s just a rehearsal for what will happen here,” Pantoliano told Page Six.
Trump has only been in office for a little over 100 days, but has already caused massive upheaval with steep international tariffs on U.S. imports, launched mass deportations, defied the U.S. Supreme Court — and floated the idea of a third, unconstitutional term.
Pantoliano certainly isn’t the first American celebrity to ponder a permanent move: former daytime talkshow host Rosie O’Donnell recently relocated to Ireland just before Trump’s chaotic second term; Ellen Degeneres opted for the English countryside with wife Portia de Rossi.
“Desperate Housewives” star Eva Longoria, meanwhile, spends much of her time in Mexico.
Whether Pantoliano will actually commit to becoming a Portuguese resident remains to be seen, but the Emmy winner certainly seems prepared — and serious about the potential dangers of remaining in America — as evident by a fledgling go-bag he told Page Six about.
