President Donald Trump has launched a right-wing takeover of the Kennedy Center, and “Late Show” host Stephen Colbert isn’t even a little surprised at who he wants as the new host of the Kennedy Center Honors.
Trump seems prepared to do it himself.
“Wow,” Colbert said in mock shock. “You could’ve given me a thousand guesses, and that would’ve been all of them.”

Trump in leaked audio said he didn’t like the event in the past.
“I couldn’t watch it,” he said. “And the host was always terrible.”
Given that Colbert hosted three times, he had an offer for the president.
“I’ll tell you what, sir, I’m willing to trade: You host the Kennedy Center Honors, I’ll be president,” he said. “I can’t be any worse.”
