The Dropkick Murphys on Sunday dedicated a song to President Donald Trump ― but it wasn’t exactly an honor.
“This next song is dedicated to a guy who wears orange makeup, shits his pants in his diapers, rapes women, touches kids,” vocalist Ken Casey said at the Warped Tour stop in Long Beach. “It’s called ‘First Class Loser.’”
As the band performed the song, images of Trump appeared on the screen ― including photos of the president with late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The two were once friends, and one image included a 2002 quote from Trump praising Epstein as “a terrific guy.”
The song was not necessarily about Trump from the beginning.
“That song in particular, I tell all my friends, ‘Hey, I wrote it about you,’” Casey told Artist Waves when the song was released in 2017.
The Celtic punk band has taken on Trump and MAGA plenty of times over the years, with Casey calling out the president for being “a rat and a coward” in an interview in March.
“Donald Trump is the exact opposite of everything we sing about,” he told the progressive MeidasTouch Network.
In 2022, he warned MAGA voters: “You’re being duped by the greatest swindler in the history of the world. You’re being duped by a bunch of grifters and billionaires who don’t give a shit about you or your family.”
