Seth Meyers on Thursday put conservatives on blast after President Donald Trump claimed he was personally involved in picking the 2025 Kennedy Center Honors recipients and “turned down plenty” of others, including “wokesters.”
“Shoutout to the free speech warriors going radio silent while the president just fully admits he’s punishing artists for their politics,” said the “Late Night” host. “You keep doing you, but only when it fits your world view, you fucking hypocrites!”
Meyers went on to argue that the MAGA movement just wants to “whine about woke” on Fox News before airing several clips of right-wingers complaining about the “same old culture war B.S.” over the years.
The supercut featured conservatives claiming that the left cancelled Mr. Potato Head, Dr. Seuss books, the Muppets and Pepé Le Pew — the latter reference of which Meyers clowned.
“Hey, look, I get you guys love Pepé Le Pew since you all support a president who fully Le Pew’s the flag every chance he gets,” quipped Meyers as he aired a video of Trump hugging and kissing the U.S. flag as he mouthed the words “I love you, baby” back in 2020.
He jumped into his Trump impression, “Mon chéri, my little love bundle, my little peanut brittle, my little gumbo — come here, give me a kiss!”
