President Donald Trump’s eyebrow-raising answer during a meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney is getting the late-night treatment.
When asked what concession he hoped to get from Canada — a country he’s repeatedly talked about turning into the 51st U.S. state — Trump replied: “Friendship.”
Seth Meyers couldn’t resist.
“It is so revealing and so deeply sad that Trump considers friendship a concession,” the “Late Night” host said Wednesday.
“He should write a relationship book called ‘The Art of the Friend,’” Meyers quipped, referencing Trump’s business memoir of almost the same name.
The comedian imagined how the first chapter would begin: “Buy low! The best friends to make are losers who don’t have any other friends. That way they’ll do whatever you want in fear of losing your friendship.”
“That’s how I found Rudy,” he added in a Trump impression, referring to Trump’s embattled former attorney Rudy Giuliani.
