Kylie Kelce pulled off a smooth podcast interview with Michelle Obama, but according to the mom of four, a few moments that showcased just how nervous she was to be speaking with the former First Lady were edited out.
During Thursday’s episode of the “Not Gonna Lie with Kylie Kelce,” which was previously recorded before she welcomed her daughter, Finn, on March 30, Kelce answered a question from a viewer who asked how she maintained her composure while interviewing such a noteworthy figure like Obama.
“First of all, Tristan, the editing team behind ‘Not Gonna Lie’ did me a solid,” Kelce said with a laugh. “I had to wipe my upper lip sweat multiple times. Multiple times. OK?”
She continued, “A lot of fans were shocked that we got Michelle Obama. Girl, same. Guys, I still can’t wrap my head around it.”
While Kelce joked that she “has no business speaking to the [guests]” that come on her show, she gushed over just how much Obama’s appearance meant to her.
“I was very nervous to speak to Mrs. Obama. I am so incredibly grateful that she was able to come on,” she explained. “I absolutely love how excited people were in the comments [about her appearance] because it validated how hyped I was about getting that opportunity.”
Kelce went on to further clarify that she was indeed “not [able to keep her] cool” while speaking to Obama.
“I had full pit sweat like I usually do when I interview people…but for Michelle it hit a new level because for Mrs. Obama I was rocking upper lip sweat.”
During Obama’s appearance on the show’s March 20 episode, the pair discussed a wide variety of topics, including motherhood and prom at the White House.
